It was not difficult to install. The install video helped. I did not find a significant difference in shifter-feel, based solely on installing the cable reinforcement. I think this upgrade should really be purchased along with the other shifter mods to truly benefit from it. I have the short throw and mounting kit coming so I am excited to experience the combined effect.
