I love my shifter. This is a great improvement over the stock shifter. Why did I wait so long to get one of these? I have owned my 2001 95 Aero since new and I should have installed this GS shifter a long time ago.

The included instructions are very good and there are a couple of internet postings with step by step instructions by others who have intalled the GS shifter.

Most of the work has to do with removing the center console which is mostly just a lot of torx screws.

The actual shifter housing is cast aluminum and needs some modification to fit the GS shifter. A grinder or large file is all it takes to round out the existing 2" hole a bit.

The GS shifter is a very high quality piece with a very precise spherical bearing that the shaft pivots on. The is also a grease fitting to lube the ball. This is a big improvement over the OEM plastic ball that acts as a bearing.

The shifts are now very crisp, the throw shorter, and the slop is gone. You should also install new shifter bushings when you do the install......no reason to put the old ones back in.
