I have an ’02 Convertible SE. I'm not very mechanical but am not afraid of much. It took me about 1 hr to install it even without instructions. I printed out all the pictures and took them to the garage so I could look at examples. Do yourself a favor and make sure you have two socket wrenches that can fit in tight spaces. Also, the metal tabs in the engine compartment car that are used to bolt down the black plastic intake box (removed now) did not have “holes” for the bolt but were instead u-shaped tabs. This bothered me at first because it gives you the impression that the stainless steel plate provided can’t be securely attached. Not to worry, if you crank down the nuts it stays tight.

The sound from the new intake is interesting - sort of reminds me of one of those big turbo-diesel's spinning up, but not as loud. Admittedly, I don't know what mine sounds like outside the car but from in the cabin it is now very clear when the car is breathing.

By the way, I combined this with the stage 1 BSR PPC. My pre-install city mpg used to be ~20. Now it is 25 if I use the accelerator just the same as before 80% of the time and have fun the other 20%, which is typically all I get to do where I live. Right now, that's about $300/yr savings. I did see a bump on highway but not as much (27 mpg now 30 mpg running about 75mph). I don't know how much of that improvement came from the PPC vs. the intake, probably 80/20 but still not bad.
