A 10mm ratchet, long screwdriver(to pry off old air box cover) and 30 minutes is all you need (and I am not a die-hard DIY'er).

I wish I had done this earlier.l..turns out the most annoying part of the stock SAAB 9-3 is the turbo lag, not necessarily the stock handling. Especially with 5 speeds, this mod gives you much better driver control of steering input as the engine response has far, far less lagtime involved. This along with replacement of the plastic Bosch blow off valve is a must to enjoy the T5 9-3's.

Tho I've had installed many handling fixes too over the 9 years (heavier rear anti-roll, poly bushings, steering rack and brace, uprated SAABSport springs and shocks, tranny mount kit), the open air intake is among the best yet.

Finally, my SAAB responds like my old and loved 1991 VW GTI (only with more power now). Getting rid of turbo lag is a must and this mod reduces its effects by 50% or more.
