What A Difference!!! I decided to go with the larger 1” bar this is the very first upgrade I’ve done on my 01 Viggen. I’m from the Tim Allen school of thought (if big is good than bigger is better). Do not let the race only scare you this bare is incredible. The car corners almost perfectly flat with no noticeable harsh nice added to the ride. I would say 80% of what I thought was torch steer is now gone. The acceleration is much more civilized and I’m getting a lot more power to the ground in 2nd gear. If Saab had done this from the factory the auto motive press would have been much more positive on the Viggen.
The bar was of the highest build quality. The welds were beautiful. The holes could not have lined up better. The powder coat was looks great. I do wish it was chromed as apposed to powder coated but that is just personal preference.
The entire swap out took me 30 minutes including pulling the up on stands and cleanup after. An impact wrench is a must for this job, if you don’t have one barrow one from someone. Even with the impact I broke two out of the four bolts. So I would also recommend having something to cut the bolts with handy. You will understand why when the head breaks of the bolt. You will only need to cut it about a quarter of an inch shorter to get it out.
