Just installed the steering rod bushings. Pretty amazing, an instant improvement, steering seems "tighter". I imagine the feeling will change as the bushings wear in. Also, if you have never removed and/or replace these, it is NOT a 30 minute job.
Be sure to remove the locking plate from the bolt heads before trying to remove the bolts in the steering rack. Also the advice to use WD-40 to coax the old stock bushing out is CORRECT. It works, but I had to cut some of the bushing on the back side of steering rod to get them out. I would suggest loosening the bolts, and only removing one tie rod, remove old bushing, install new ones, and put bolt back in, and then do the other tie rod. This will keep the steering rack in place. Also watch out for the large washers between the tie rod and the steering rack.
