The old anti-roll bar had to be flexed to get it loose after three of the four bolts snapped off when I tried to remove them. It wasn't really doing anything and the car rode like it.

I bought the cheap 19mm bar and once installed, it made such a huge difference that I immediately wished I had bought it right after I got my '99 9-3 two years earlier. It wasn't really evident at first, driving around ordinary city streets with lots of stop signs and lights, but the first ramp I took onto the highway blew my mind. Before the bar was installed, I would have rolled the car if I turned and accelerated the way I had on that ramp, but with the bar, the car stayed planted like it was on rails. I immediately understood the phrase and feeling of what it was like to be 'on rails'. I got up to speed and merged with traffic without any effort or stress.

The actual product was obviously amazing quality. I'm able to trust my 9-3 when I have to react and manoeuvre quickly and know I won't end up in an accident because I underestimated the body roll.

Someone else commented on a forum or in these reviews that this is the first thing you should upgrade on your SAAB. It has the most benefit for the cost. I spent more on winter car mats than this anti-roll bar, so if you're on the fence, take my advice and just get it. Now I wish I had bought the thicker, more expensive one.
