The stock shifter in my 96 900SE conv. was shot out. In fact, I had to superglue the nylon ring to prevent the gyro from popping out. No joke! This shifter rocks! Not hard to remove console and unbolt old shifter. Prob the most difficult part was cutting out template which is provided with shifter. I used a file and a carbon tap bit for my drill that I bought at harbor freight for $4 bucks. Im not a mechanic by trade and it took maybe two or so hours total including drill/cut time. Huge difference this shifter makes. Excellent investment for your Saab even if your not modifying any other parts. Def give this 5 Griffins.
